AOD-9604 (5 mg Vial) Dosage Protocol
Reconstitution and dosing guide for the 5 mg AOD-9604 vial, a modified fragment of growth hormone (hGH 176-191) studied for fat metabolism without the growth-promoting effects of full GH.
Quickstart Highlights
AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal fragment (amino acids 176-191) of human growth hormone, modified for stability. Research has focused on its lipolytic (fat-burning) activity; it is studied for stimulating fat breakdown and inhibiting fat formation without affecting blood sugar or IGF-1 the way full growth hormone does. It is administered subcutaneously.
- Composition: 5 mg AOD-9604 per vial
- Reconstitute: Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water → 2.5 mg/mL concentration
- Easy measuring: At 2.5 mg/mL, 1 unit (0.01 mL) on a U-100 syringe = 25 mcg
- Storage: Lyophilized: −20 °C (−4 °F); reconstituted: 2–8 °C (35.6–46.4 °F), protected from light, use within 2–4 weeks
Dosing & Reconstitution Guide
Subcutaneous protocol; the commonly studied dose is around 300 mcg daily
Daily Subcutaneous Protocol (5 mg vial, 2 mL = 2.5 mg/mL)
| Protocol | Daily Dose | Units (U-100) | mL |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 300 mcg once daily | 12 units | 0.12 mL |
| Lower | 250 mcg once daily | 10 units | 0.10 mL |
Administration: Inject once daily subcutaneously, commonly in the morning on an empty stomach. A 5 mg vial provides roughly 16 days at 300 mcg.
Reconstitution Steps
- Allow the vial to reach room temperature (15–20 minutes out of cold storage).
- Draw 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe.
- Inject slowly down the vial wall to avoid foaming.
- Gently swirl or roll until fully dissolved (do not shake).
- Label with date and concentration; refrigerate at 2–8 °C, protected from light.
Result: 2.5 mg/mL concentration
How This Works
AOD-9604 is the lipolytic region of growth hormone. Research indicates it stimulates the breakdown of fat (lipolysis) and inhibits lipogenesis (fat storage), reproducing GH's fat-metabolism effects without its impact on glucose metabolism or IGF-1.
Because it does not meaningfully raise blood sugar or promote tissue growth, it has been studied specifically as a fat-loss agent rather than a growth-promoting one.
Key Administration Notes
- Inject once daily; morning, fasted, is a common timing.
- Rotate injection sites; use new sterile insulin syringes and a sharps container.
- Document dose, timing, and site for consistency.
- Note: this 5 mg page mirrors the standard AOD-9604 5 mg protocol.
